Welcome

to the web site of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church - Columbus Ohio. We Thank You for your interest. May the grace of Our Savior, Jesus Christ, be with you always. "O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good and His mercy endures forever." Psalm 107:1

Mission Statement

The mission of Zion is to teach and equip people through Word and Sacrament, to grow and mature as Christ's disciples, enabling believers to share the Gospel of Christ with our community.

Summer Study

"Summer Study" - Due to a recent interest in having more Bible Studies, we will be having a Bible Study here at the church in the Fellowship Hall every Monday morning from 11:00 A.M. - noon. We will begin this "Summer Study" on Monday, June 6th, and it will continue through August. The topics and/or Bible books which we will study will be forthcoming soon.

VBS

Vacation Bible School 2016 July 25 - 29 ; 6:30-8:30 pm
At Barnyard Roundup we will learn that Jesus gathers us together! We want to belong, be understood, and be val-ued. At Vacation Bible School we will look into the Bible, God’s Holy Word, to discover that Jesus, our Savior, knows us by name, rounds us up, and brings us home. He is with us always and forever - no matter what!

Psalm 23 is the Bible Memory focus of this VBS, This beloved Psalm shares our confident trust that our Lord is with us now and forever, provides all we need, and protects us. Every lesson clearly distin-guishes between God’s Law and His Gospel. We learn God’s will for our lives and how the Law has been fulfilled for us in the person and work of Jesus Christ. At the center of every lesson is the Gospel: God’s gracious gift of Jesus as the Savior from sin, death, and the devil.

We invite youth and adults of all ages to participate this summer. Classes range from preschool to high school, and an adult class led by Pastor Kudart. Student and volunteer registration forms can be found on VBS table in the New Narthex.

Traveling

Traveling this summer? Looking for a church similar to Zion, with a liturgy you recognize? Visit http://lutheranliturgy.org/ and search for a church in the area. All churches on the Evangelical – Lutheran Liturgical Congregations website follow the historic liturgy and practice Closed Commun-ion. (Please note that this is a pan-Lutheran Web Directory. All entries will note the church’s synod as part of its description.) Zion was added to this web directory in September.
