to the web site of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church - Columbus Ohio. We Thank You for your interest. May the grace of Our Savior, Jesus Christ, be with you always. "O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good and His mercy endures forever." Psalm 107:1

Mission Statement

The mission of Zion is to teach and equip people through Word and Sacrament, to grow and mature as Christ's disciples, enabling believers to share the Gospel of Christ with our community.

New Contribution Envelope

A new envelope design will soon be here that can easily be used with Zion Gives, as once you are signed up with the Zion Gives program, you may check the envelope box and put the envelope in the offering plate. Zion Gives is our automated giving program that helps members with staying on track for consistent stewardship. Zion gives is secure, confidential, and may be started, stopped or changed with three days notice. Please consider Zion Gives for 2017.

Another new feature of the 2017 envelope will be to clarify the congregational mission giving program with the addition of the Zion Mission Fund line. The Zion Mission Fund is where we will collect offerings for the missionaries that Zion supports in the Dominican Republic and in Sri Lanka. Zion Gives works with the Zion Mission Fund in a seamless way. Set the proportion of your gift to the Zion General Fund, the Zion Mission fund, and Zion Gives takes care of the rest.

There is also a line for Flower payments. Some members prefer writing one check per week for both their offering and any flower payments. This line will also make collection of Christmas and Easter flower orders easier for everyone.
Lastly, there is a blank line that may be used periodically for special appeals that arise, such as relief efforts. Note however, that donations for this line must be approved by the Voter’s Assembly as required by Zion’s constitution.

Envelopes will be distributed beginning November 27.

Traveling this fall? Looking for a church similar to Zion, with a liturgy you recognize? Visit and search for a church in the area. All churches on the Evangelical – Lutheran Liturgical Congregations website follow the historic liturgy and practice Closed Communion. (Please note that this is a pan-Lutheran Web Directory. All entries will note the church’s synod as part of its description.) Zion was added to this web directory in September.
